supported by
Carsten Pieper

Carsten Pieper Alt-pop, so Del Suelo label themselves. Another label is indie rock, and yeah this new programme covers a quite broad stylistic range. Catchy tunes, (almost) all of them!
I'm looking forward to reading the book, that comes with the album :-) Favorite track: 666Hz, Frequencies of the Beast.

  • For a guy who loves to travel around playing music, Devon
seems to have it made: he’s the bass player for the surging
folk-punk band “North By Choice.” After years of grinding
away, they’re finally starting to get their due, playing to bigger
audiences in new places. When the band hits the big city lights
of Berlin after their craziest gig yet, Devon knows he’s living
the dream. That is, until things collapse into an agonizing
morning after, when Devon begins to question everything.

    The Musician’s Compass: A 12-Step Programme is a hilarious,
provocative look at life on the road, an adventure littered with
addiction and depression, punctuated by triumph and hope.

    Will Devon survive the ride?

Second Encore our ship has crash landed on a rush hour freeway light up a post-set cigarette smoke my cares away out of the frying pan into the fire just when I think I can’t get much higher then I see you standing there blue eyes and straight black hair they say leave ‘em wanting more my second encore i’m burning down, cause town to town I’m saying the same damn lines each night Then I’ll have a lil drink I’ll get a lil high and I’ll start to feel alright it’s hand over fist, its money in my mitts I’ll sell, whatever it takes I’m a streetlight serenade my heart is a hand grenade just waiting to detonate

Pack Rats 03:51
Pack Rats It was back in the winter of 99 Delivering paper in the morning time Through snow and the rain Fog and the misty I worked long enough Till i got that T-60 Fuck it or fight it, singin’ and writing T be down for almost anything Chasing the thrills or paying the bills Just a ramblin’ rebel getting on the train So close the lid on the box of money In the back of my mind I’m thinking honey It wont be pretty, getting all ready Taking all this shit down To the next city I’d love to stay and chat But my beers are running low I’m going to step away And change out of these clothes We can kick it later on If you keep it on the down-low Pack up the stage Pack it up for the next show
3.
Berlin Calling Spark me up a cigarette Slap that bag of wine I got a little pretty kitty waiting on me Dancing on the end of my line It’s been days since I left But I’m going out again tonight So load the gear into the van Lets stop wasting time Marleen, Marleen Wont you take me out tonight? Drag me down to your underground And make me feel alright Marleen Marleen Let’s paint this fucker red I just got paid and now I need to get laid I can sleep when I’m dead
4.
A Lust Supreme I want to get high To get a little closer to you Let’s stay out all night It’s all I want to do Take me out into the city lights Teach me how to speak your tongue tonight Show me how to life a perfect life Soaring on infinite high
5.
The Panic! At the Disco - Fulsome Prison Blues I don’t like the way this tastes who you running from anyways? did you think you could forget about me? did you really think you could escape? _____ let it rain down on me because I’m guilty for wanting everything and now sorrow sings: the moment you realize where you are the moment you know you gone too far the moment run out of luck the moment you stop giving a fuck the moment are cursing above the moment you fall out of love the moment you stop keeping pace the moment you fall out of the race the moment she’s with another guy the moment when you want to die the moment when it all comes to a halt the moment when you know it’s all your fault the moment when know you aint sleeping tonight the moment you watch her drive out of sight the moment she deletes you on her phone the moment you know you’re all alone
6.
Nightstream 02:36
Nightstream I stab into open air Equal hope and despair That this lock might take my key I enter a warm embrace Of some cared for space Smiling faces in picture frames smile back at me I hang my coat on the hanger Drop my bag by the door When I'm drunk taking of my boots is a chore So I wear them damaging these dark halls Until I take what I need And find a spot to fall asleep on your floor
7.
(What’s the Story) Morning Glory? The morning light Creeps through the blinds I think I got 3 hours last night My eyes are bloodshot Acidic gutrot 6 more hours in the van No ceiling stays the same Strangers change in the picture frames A day older every morning And I’m feeling faded I’ll run hot walter Forget the father’s daughter Who’s scent lingers on me now What’s the story, morning glory? When I wake up in the morning, What am I supposed to do? When the first thing I think about Is how I left you. To sleep on the cold floor To run my body weak Snorting things Breaking strings Living like a freak.
8.
Caress of Steel Wheels Get in the van Stick with the plan 6 hours to go Somewhere I don’t know A new countryside Another long drive Leaves of yellow and gold Speckle the wet road Big wheels Keep on turning Over me Under me Waking up early feeling heavy in the eyes Feels like a demise, the AM I’d always despised But in turn I’m making amends for my previous mistakes Was it real? Was it fake? I simply do what it takes. Drinking myself with a heavy demeanour Darkness recedes a secret retriever believer But when it’s time i can switch up the gears No need to fear Touring van And my homies are here
9.
Enter the Tempel I walk on these cold streets Possessed by some unknown thing Searching for the unmarked door To the land where we will be king I’ve been out here so long Driving highways of sin So I bang on the door C’mon man, please let me in To enter the temple There are dues you gotta pay You must fall down on your knees And drive the thieves away So many will come So many will go So many are called But so few are chose
10.
666Hz, The Frequencies of the Beast There is a time of day Where demons like to play Running through your brain Driving you insane Doubt yourself: what are you doing? Doubt yourself: what are you proving? 666Hz, the frequencies of the beast Fix the mix Until your eardrums bleed
11.
Darn That Dream — Stairway to Eleven What have I done — Am I the prodigal son? If I dig my toes into the grass Will momma still know who I am? I traded the stars To play on electric guitars Dress me up and put me on the stage Sell a few words on electric page Talk to me one on one This machine that I’ve become What a fool to waste so much time Chasing fools paradise Damn that dream That had me playing Autumn Leaves Whisper sweet lies, manipulate Light the fire and congregate ______ Darkness dances on the dimly lit fringes Of my mind Just like a black storm cloud Covers a clear blue sky I miss my time in nature Honey, I miss your smell I’m stuck amongst this glitter and gold Of a circus carousel All I can do Is try and hang on Through the darkness See the light break another dawn I love the smell of a venue Anticipating a set The feeling of thundering bass Pounding with my heart in my chest
12.
Walk the Plank Embarked on a journey that mad a man out of me I learned to sail the high seas Sailing around not sure where to go Catching any warm winds to blow Living on the end of 7th avenue I drove by almost every night The sacred name was the valley cruise To feel something inside All the glory All the pain All the waiting in vain Jump right in Sink or swim Never look back again The price you pay to find your way Walk the plank It’s the van breaking down It’s going broke It's nobody hearing the worlds you spoke I did the time And now you're mine
